I went up to Blea Tarn in the Lake District for a LOOKSLIKEFILM meet up & shoot day with my sister Sinead a few weeks ago, and it was AMAZING!
Driving through the small villages and the country side was so beautiful, and the last 15 minutes of driving was a little…lets just say, my wee car did a bit of complaining on those steep hills! We started off with a small group, hiking up a mountain to catch an amazing view. I grabbed a very sneaky shot of a plane flying overhead and sadly I missed a chance at photographing a fighter jet whizzing past, it was just too fast.
Lukas, the main man himself turned up, coming all the way from Germany, showed us how to interact with the couple & when to leave them to do their own thing, giving us little ideas on what works best :) One of my favourite parts of the day was rocking the free-lensing! I did it a few weeks back and loved it, and was great to do a bit more practicing with our wonderful photographer couple, who stepped in to model for us. Thanks Sarah & Ethan!
Then we headed into the forest where Amy was setting up a wedding dress shoot with some epic smoke bombs! It was wonderful to meet people from the online group, and really looking forward to the next one! (Hopefully down south this time!) Thank you to Chris & Amy-Leigh for organising it all. :)
Afterwards, we all settled in at the local pub for some drinks, grub and a good old natter about business with Sarah & Ethan. This was super informative and helpful and they kindly offer free advice through their websites. I love the whole idea behind this community, and the motto being ‘community over competition’ and it’s so right. We’re here to build each other up, not knock each other down <3
