Lapstone Barn Wedding
A Meaningful Lapstone Barn Wedding in the Cotswolds
Emma and David’s Lapstone Barn wedding was a heartfelt celebration of family, love, and the life they have already built together. Having been together for ten years, with their anniversary just two weeks before the wedding, their day felt like a natural extension of their relationship rather than the beginning of something new.
For this couple, the most important part of their Lapstone Barn wedding was having their two children present. Sharing the day together as a family of four meant more to them than any small detail or decoration. Choosing the right venue was important, and Lapstone Barn in the Cotswolds felt like the perfect fit. The countryside location offered a beautiful rustic barn setting while still being close to places that already held meaning for the couple.
In fact, the venue is just five minutes away from where Emma and David got engaged, making it even more special. As a foodie couple, they also loved that great food was a big focus at the venue. With onsite accommodation available, they knew their children and guests could celebrate late into the evening without worrying about travelling home. Emma got ready upstairs in the barn, with her beautiful Tilly Trotters Brides dress hanging, alongside her veil.
Their ceremony included two meaningful readings from people close to them. David’s cousin Kelly, who he lived with when the couple first started dating, read the first piece.
The second reading was read by Candice, Emma’s close friend of 21 years. This reading was especially personal, as it had been written by the bride herself, making it a beautiful and emotional moment during their Lapstone Barn wedding ceremony.
Many details throughout the day reflected the couple’s friendships and family connections. Emma’s friend Evie from Akin Flowers, who recently launched the floristry business with her sister, created the wedding flowers. This was the first wedding they had ever worked on, and the couple were excited to support them!
Emma’s bridal bouquet included a charm honouring her grandparents who had passed away. Their wedding cake also featured sweet figurines of their dogs, Buddy and Bertie, while the table numbers displayed photos of the dogs taken by a friend.
One of the most emotional moments planned for the day was a surprise recording from their three-year-old daughter Maisie. The idea was to play her message just before the children walked down the aisle, with the string quartet pausing so guests could hear it – It was very sweet!
