A moody, rain-soaked Stourhead couple shoot? Yes please!

This romantic couple travelled all the way from Paris with their gorgeous dog for a windswept, Pride and Prejudice-inspired session among the classical temples, stone bridges, and misty lake views. The weather brought a cinematic quality to the whole shoot. Think windswept hair, damp stone paths, and the kind of dramatic skies that feel straight out of a period drama.

Leaning into the atmosphere, we embraced the rain and let it add texture and mood. There were stolen kisses beneath trees, muddy shoes, and moments that felt pulled from the pages of Austen herself. Their dog happily trotted alongside, getting in as many photos as she could!

It’s a good long walk around the lake, and is best to come prepared. I highly recommend comfortable walking shoes, layers and a raincoat if needed (also a clear umbrella so it helps with light on your face!)

Stourhead never disappoints, but on this drizzly day, it offered something dramatic and intimate, and a reminder that you don’t need sunshine and embrace whatever the weather throws at you, especially in January!
